Pangs Reveal Thy Cause Written by: Ron Brown Photo by: Keith Davenport

So many are the times when a pull within tugs with negative effect.
Is it a fear of failure?
Is it a fear of success?
Is it angst from an unresolved issue not explored?

Many are the bumps on life’s journey. But ignoring the check engine light of our very being that lights up each time you turn the car on – eventually it will cause you to stop.
Find strength within to explore the very pangs that at first tug upon your pant leg like a child requiring attention.
IF you choose to ignore it, the universe will let you continue but now the pang is more like being pushed losing your footing and even stumbling.
IF you choose to ignore it again, then you might find yourself tripping landing face down on rough ground with lacerations and much pain.

When you feel the pang the first time, it is usually the universe pointing out something requiring your attention.  It is best to listen so that with minimal course correction you can reveal its cause and find your journey not only running more smoothly in the flow of our universal truth.

When I was in basic training long ago, we had to go through an obstacle course. I recall the pyramid of metal barrels the most.  For I twisted my ankle on one of the barrels while trying to climb it the first time.  I choose to ignore the pain – and couldn’t get over the barrels correctly.  The drill sergeant didn’t care about my pain in the ankle but he said something – I will never forget and even treasure today “Airman, I don’t care how much this obstacle hurts you, but until you get it right  -- you can’t move on to the next obstacle awaiting you and you’ll never get where you’re going.”

I remember first thinking with the pain of a twisted ankle – “where is this guy’s compassion?” But then I got up off my ass and not only completed the barrels but the rest of the obstacle course without having to repeat any of the steps.  That night in the barracks my ankle swell but more importantly my soul – swelled with pride of learning a truly valuable life lesson.

Life and your journey in or out of harmony with your embryonic truth written within your very being before you drew your first breath.  Heed the tugging, nay pangs that require your attention or repeat the obstacles with more difficulty so you can get where you’re going.  Why should we repeat obstacles when they serve only to let us arrive to our destination?

BE Truly Well, face the pangs and obstacles with joy not fear.

Excuses Are Life’s Tsunami

Excuses Are Life’s Tsunami
Written By: Ron Brown    Photo by: Keith Davenport
Often it is carefully crafted excuses that cover up the real reason that create a tsunami of repercussions.
When people try to sugar coat or invent excuses to disguise their real intent which might be in the short term painful, it creates a quaking action in the core of those involved.
That quaking flows forth from the place of impact building in the subconscious mind of those it was meant to protect and can mentally devastate the very foundation which the crafted excuse was meant to hide painful truth from hurting.

This happens every day at our jobs, with relatives or even friends and even in our personal relationships by those who might be well meaning or just plain thinking they are slick, but devastating none the less.

How much more does this devastation occur when we create carefully created excuses told to one self is even more harmful than any other words can be.
For when we try to justify inaction or explain away inertia toward our desired goals you might not feel the initial quake to your path, but soon the quake will not only hit but result in a powerful current of untold devastation.
Today, decide what William Shakespeare said, “To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man.”

For what Shakespeare knew in this golden nugget of truth is that if the person in our own reflection makes excuses, nay lies to oneself, than the result will lead to devastation.

Today, decide that truth beginning with one’s very life the only solid foundation that can be laid down for real progress and enlightened path is a result.

Remember others can hurt while trying to hide the truth or making excuses but when one allows themselves to sugar-coat their denial the most damage is done. IF you expect your life to BE Truly Well then KEEP truth as your only best-friend and self-love as your trusted companion.

What is Your Soundtrack to Your Life's Motion Picture?

What is Your Soundtrack to Your Life's Motion Picture? Written by Ron Brown

I firmly believe in the power of music and how it can empower or invoke emotional responses.
I have in some settings seen strong men brought to tears when they hear a song that reminded them of someone who passed from this life.
I can rejoice at the number of times when co-workers will be so focused on their work and then the lyrics of a song start to come out of their mouth and their very countenance changes. This is truly powerful.

But looking back at your life till now and where you see it going – what would be your Motion Picture Soundtrack of your life?

It is easy to pick one artists work.  Some might go for an existing movie soundtrack where the type of music is all one kind like club or dance music.  You might even be tempted to pick a CD of an artist that isn’t even a soundtrack at all. To me this is very insightful.

Some choose to drowned out the real them with beats of music and lyrics that make no sense.  I heard a very popular song on the radio the other day that just rapped any words that rhymed. I became to laugh at how some popular music is just crap.  I remembered when a song was a story that took you somewhere.  But some music today is just shallow, pedantic (lacking) in meaning of anything but to climb a chart.

If our diet of music was our diet would we be malnourished?
If your life’s Motion Picture soundtrack is filled with these kind of songs, are you truly in touch with the Real YOU?Take time to take stock of the direction your true self is heading.  I think of the wonderfully deep song by Diana Ross that asks Deep Questions.

The song is “Do You Know Where You’re Going To”  Written by: Gerry Goffin and Michael Masser  which was the theme song of the 1976 movie “Mahogany” soundtrack.

Here are the lyrics to this powerful song:

Do you know where you're going to? Do you like the things that life is showing you?
Where are you going to? do you know? Do you get what you're hoping for?
When you look behind you there's no open door What are you hoping for?
Do you know?

Once we were standing still in time Chasing the fantasies that filled our minds

You knew i loved you, but my spirit was free Laughing at the question that you once ask me.  Do you know where you're going to? Do you like the things that life is showing you? Where are you going to? Do you know?

Now, looking back in all we pass. We've let so many dreams just slip through our hands

Why must we wait so long before we see. How sad the answers to those questions can be?
Do you know where you're going to?  Do you like the things that life is showing you?
Where are you going to? do you know?  Do you get what you're hoping for?
When you look behind you there's no open door.  What are you hoping for? Do you know?"

My question to you is what is your Motion Picture Soundtrack for your life?  DO YOU KNOW where you have been, Where YOU are going to in life.  Have you been to YOU inside and connected with the embryonic truth written there before you drew your first breath?  I hope so.  The world needs powerful soundtracks and people who live rich authentic lives to be all they can be.

So I challenge you to sit down with your composer awaiting within your very being. Find out what score and lyrics you are meant to bring forth and record that soundtrack and as I always say “BE Truly Well.

Waves Around Me Flow (Reflections of a Pilot in Training)

Waves Around Me Flow (Reflections of a Pilot in Training) (Written by: Ron Brown)

There are days that the rivers current pushes back against progress in what “I” perceive as my pathway. Like a salmon pushing with yearning up stream it is a battle leaving many wounded against the rocks of adversity.  But if we truly connect with the embryonic truth within where our life’s mission has been written before we took in our first breath, then there is true navigation. When desiring, nay longing for what we know is our purpose and goal – you can feel the flow of vibrational truth move around you.

When a plane flies into the wind it is only then that lift is achieved. I recall taking flying lessons back in 2000 and the great joy of learning of Bernoulli's Theorem which says that describes the relationship between velocity and the pressure exerted by a moving fluid (liquid or air). It states that as the velocity of a fluid increases, the pressure exerted by that fluid decreases. Thus lift is achieved.

How true that is for us in our lives.  For truly to be in the vibrational flow of universal truth we need to know we are heading in the right direction with action steps taking us into the wind.  Although there is great pressure coming at us, it is the perfect combination that provides the “lift needed” to “be in the flow”.

Although I never completed my private pilot’s license, I learned so much about life from those flying lessons.  The first time I soloed and realized that my trusty instructor was not in the plane with me to grab hold and correct any error.  This was thrilling and scary at the same time. But like life, at some point you need to charge in the right direction against the wind to achieve lift.  Yes, there is pressure but that is truly where the result of lift happens.

By the same token, if you try to take off in a cross wind without the right combination of corrective actions the result is flipping the plane over. Sometimes we know from the wind sock of our airport the true direction of timing.  Which runway will be safest and most effective for takeoff.   You cannot sit around planning your flight forever.  At some point you need to know the weather conditions, the winds aloft which will carry you on your journey.

The next concept is to do a flight check of your aircraft.  It is the pilot’s responsibility to review each part of his plane to ensure that it is working properly, that there are no fluid leaks, that the fuel is tested.  Without this safety check, many a mission of flight would prove disastrous.

I remember the joy of speaking with the tower and requesting permission to taxi to the runway.  Guided by the voice from on high can be great.  But I also remember one time when questioning the tower was wise.  A brand new air traffic controller was on his first day at North East Airport and gave me direction to taxi into passion on Runway 33 and hold.  (This means to move your aircraft into the center line of the active runway.) However, I saw another plane about to land on Runway 33 and I told the tower “Negative, No Joy” which means I would not comply.  Then the plan about to land came down and landed where I would have been on the runway.  I was told to take off and completed my flight and was instructed over the radio to call the tower when I landed.

The instructor who was with me in the plane said I did nothing wrong and he wanted to listen in to that phone call. The controller wanted to speak to me directly to apologize to me for his error.  He said that he had been at another airport that is very busy and planes know when to land further down the runway when a plane is in position to hold.

Lesson here is ALWAYS learn to trust your gut based on what you have learned as it can save your life.  So when others tell you to taxi into position and hold, always look for the queues of your training to truly be safe.  Timing is truly everything.  Even a small delay can mean all the difference to success.

Another amazing principle is called “the slip.”  A slip is an aerodynamic state where an aircraft is moving somewhat sideways as well as forward relative to the oncoming airflow. In other words, for a conventional aircraft, the nose will not be pointing directly into the relative wind (in the side-to-side sense). A slip is also a piloting maneuver where the pilot deliberately puts the aircraft into a slip.

This is truly an amazing result of quickly bring you safely into a landing.  The first time I did “a slip” I felt such joy as I came down smoothly and safely going slightly off center which results in a quick but safe landing.  Sometimes you may be required to come in quickly and in a way that seems not straight ahead, but yet gets you to your destination more quickly.  Always know if you know how to do “a slip” it might be required to get you there at the perfect time.

But through all my experiences of flying it is the joy of the journey and experience that made it all worthwhile.  The last lesson I share with you is always go by “Visual Flight Rules” until you get your “Instrument Rating”.  What this means is you can only fly when the cloud cover is 10,000 feet and visibility is clear.  Why, well since you don’t have a pre-determined flight plan using only instruments telling you exactly where you should be regardless of clouds or weather – you shouldn’t fly in what you are not prepared to handle.  Know that conditions will be “10 x 10” 10,000 feet ceiling of clouds with 10 miles of visibility which is perfect flying conditions.  Timing is everything in life to BE Truly Well.

The Overwhelming Roar of a Single Tear

The Overwhelming Roar of a Single Tear
Written BY: Ron Brown  Photo By: Keith Davenport

I heard the thunderous roar of a tear falling from a cheek.
Though it made no loud noise that anyone could hear – still the vibration was more powerful then quaking earth.
Its origin flowed over the edge of the surest dam.

It is important that you hear the powerful current of the mighty river of universal flow that created this ah-ha moment to release.
Yes, you could just wipe it away and dismiss it.
Yet it was released with great meaning.
How long must the real you wait within for connection.
For it has been drowned by the ordinary mundaneness of the everyday.
Numb to the potential and mission within longing to give you what you were born to be.
What will it take for the embryonic truth within to be heard so true happiness and universal flow transform you to what you only were born to create.

Let the tear vibrate its message, listen to its power.
Tap into the truly extraordinary you within waiting to be explored.
Before arms can truly wrap around another, they need to wrap around your true self.
Until one can look in the reflection past the outer shell into the valley of your eyes connecting and truly say “I love You” and mean it – you will never know wholeness.
Until you meditate on the embryonic truth written upon you before you took your first breath and hear angelic vibrational flow when you see clearly your mission and destination – you will not find real happiness.
But when tapped fully within can you venture forth.

The one who finds this connection of vibrational flow not only loves themselves, but is capable of finding true love in their arms, mind, heart and bed worthy of who they really are.

Settle not for the everyday dancing to the club beats of the currently played anthem.
Sure the body can feel good while dancing for its duration, but hollow is the feeling after its completion.

YOU are worth more than skin deep.
YOU are worth way more than a designer label.
YOU are worth more than a gym membership.
YOU are worth more then what the masses crave.
For ONLY YOU can become what you are meant to be.
For although you are in the midst of a crowd, there in all of time is ONLY ONE YOU.
Don’t let your life be one unfulfilled with true connection to your inner truth. YOU can be Fabulous, you can be Stylish and Yes even Proud – but until you are connected to the real you, you will never BE Truly Well.
