What is Your Soundtrack to Your Life's Motion Picture? Written by Ron Brown
I firmly believe in the power of music and how it can empower or invoke emotional responses.
I have in some settings seen strong men brought to tears when they hear a song that reminded them of someone who passed from this life.

I can rejoice at the number of times when co-workers will be so focused on their work and then the lyrics of a song start to come out of their mouth and their very countenance changes. This is truly powerful.
But looking back at your life till now and where you see it going – what would be your Motion Picture Soundtrack of your life?
It is easy to pick one artists work. Some might go for an existing movie soundtrack where the type of music is all one kind like club or dance music. You might even be tempted to pick a CD of an artist that isn’t even a soundtrack at all. To me this is very insightful.
Some choose to drowned out the real them with beats of music and lyrics that make no sense. I heard a very popular song on the radio the other day that just rapped any words that rhymed. I became to laugh at how some popular music is just crap. I remembered when a song was a story that took you somewhere. But some music today is just shallow, pedantic (lacking) in meaning of anything but to climb a chart.
If our diet of music was our diet would we be malnourished?
If your life’s Motion Picture soundtrack is filled with these kind of songs, are you truly in touch with the Real YOU?Take time to take stock of the direction your true self is heading. I think of the wonderfully deep song by Diana Ross that asks Deep Questions.
The song is “Do You Know Where You’re Going To” Written by: Gerry Goffin and Michael Masser which was the theme song of the 1976 movie “Mahogany” soundtrack.
Here are the lyrics to this powerful song:
Do you know where you're going to? Do you like the things that life is showing you?
Where are you going to? do you know? Do you get what you're hoping for?
When you look behind you there's no open door What are you hoping for?
Do you know?
Once we were standing still in time Chasing the fantasies that filled our minds
You knew i loved you, but my spirit was free Laughing at the question that you once ask me. Do you know where you're going to? Do you like the things that life is showing you? Where are you going to? Do you know?
Now, looking back in all we pass. We've let so many dreams just slip through our hands
Why must we wait so long before we see. How sad the answers to those questions can be?
Where are you going to? do you know? Do you get what you're hoping for?
When you look behind you there's no open door What are you hoping for?
Do you know?
Once we were standing still in time Chasing the fantasies that filled our minds
You knew i loved you, but my spirit was free Laughing at the question that you once ask me. Do you know where you're going to? Do you like the things that life is showing you? Where are you going to? Do you know?
Now, looking back in all we pass. We've let so many dreams just slip through our hands
Why must we wait so long before we see. How sad the answers to those questions can be?
Do you know where you're going to? Do you like the things that life is showing you?
Where are you going to? do you know? Do you get what you're hoping for?
When you look behind you there's no open door. What are you hoping for? Do you know?"
Where are you going to? do you know? Do you get what you're hoping for?
When you look behind you there's no open door. What are you hoping for? Do you know?"
My question to you is what is your Motion Picture Soundtrack for your life? DO YOU KNOW where you have been, Where YOU are going to in life. Have you been to YOU inside and connected with the embryonic truth written there before you drew your first breath? I hope so. The world needs powerful soundtracks and people who live rich authentic lives to be all they can be.
So I challenge you to sit down with your composer awaiting within your very being. Find out what score and lyrics you are meant to bring forth and record that soundtrack and as I always say “BE Truly Well.
