You Are What You Absorb

So many times you hear people say “you are what you eat.” This has a lot of merit to it for sure.  Being a person who allowed me to become morbidly obese it is not from smelling flowers.

But let’s take it a major step forward for we not only receive things via mouth but speak them as well. Our ears long to receive validation, love and belonging tones. Our eyes enjoy the smile of a familiar face for no reason at all. Our tactile touch of a hug not for pleasure, but just because build not only our endorphins but our immune system as well.

When we allow negativity even in the form of music too become an ear worm in our mind we dwell on lyrics that can disempower or even cripple our outlook on life.

When was the last time you smelled a familiar scent that brought back a memory or time that you felt not only loved but secure.  Now in your mind’s eye – imagine burnt popcorn.  Note that you went from a memory of love and joy to one that revolted you.

How much more do we control the outlook of our very being by what we allow to be absorbed into our system through all our inputs.  Having worked in computers for a long time, there is a saying that programmers say “garbage in – garbage out” meaning if your data or programming is horrible you cannot expect the result to be anything but horrible.

If your friends around you continually belittle you verbally or even with looks, then you absorb that like it or not.  There is a saying that if you want to know a person, get to know their friends.

Take inventory of what you intake, from seeing, tasting, feeling, hearing and allowing to truly program your mind.  The inner you is longing to bring you true joy aligned with the embryonic truth that was written there before you took your first breath.  But if you dwell or absorb a diet of negativity you disempower the very fiber of your being and you tell the inner you that you deserve less then.

Live not one more day with chains and vines ensnared around your life that hold you from all you were born to become.

Think on these things and BE Truly Well.
